As mentioned, Skarsgård isn’t above playing a villainous role because the actor did a phenomenal job as the Pennywise clown from the recently rebooted IT movie series. Pennywise is known for being a very popular villain and is considered to be one of the scariest clowns in existence, so that may be why this digital artist felt Skarsgard would be perfect to play Thanos in an Eternals sequel.

Since he did a good job as Pennywise the clown, it’s no surprise that fans want to see Skarsgard take on another pop culture antagonist. The fan photo comes from a user by the name of M.Design34, who posts artwork on Instagram for Marvel movies and characters that audiences are familiar with. The fan-made image of Thanos features the young Mad Titan in his signature gold armor, but this time he bears more of a resemblance to Skarsgard than Josh Brolin. The artist’s page also includes fan-made images of Spider-Man, the Skrulls from Captain Marvel, as well as Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and even a take on Nova from the Marvel comic books.

Eternals has been released for almost four weeks at this point and as of now, it’s unlikely that the film will receive a sequel. In the event that they do make a second part, fans would definitely like to see more of Thanos. He was a devastating aspect of the original three phases of the MCU movies and indirectly caused many of the issues in those films. Hopefully, the next big villain for Phase 4 will be able to surpass the Mad Titan.

Fans are often looking to see who will come next. Many are thinking Galactus will be MCU’s next main villain, while others look at Kang the Conquerer or Doctor Doom as the impending threat for Phase 4 or 5.

Whoever Marvel decides on, fans should know that the recent Eternals film set up a lot of pieces that can shake up the MCU as they know it. Fans will have to wait and see what happens before making any decisions.
