As seen in the tweet below, Bungie asks Guardians to “raise your banners” and shares an accompanying image that alludes to the return of a revamped version of the map Bannerfall to Destiny 2’s next Iron Banner. Once the limited-time Crucible event goes live on May 22, 2018, 10:00 AM PT, fans will be able to explore the additional changes of the map beyond what is shown below, which depicts alterations such as the removal of Bannerfall’s iconic tree, some wanton destruction, and the flying of the Red Legion emblem above the wreckage.

For the uninitiated, Bannerfall was first introduced in what is arguably the Destiny franchise’s most well-received expansion, The Taken King, with the map quickly becoming popular with fans in the Crucible – particularly with those who enjoy Control and Rift. This was the case due to it being a solid mid-sized map offering decent sniper sight lines, several spots for close-quarters encounters, and multiple points where flanking the competition became a crucial part of players’ strategies.

Of course, in addition to the return of Bannerfall, Bungie has also made sure to display a Hunter, Warlock, and Titan on the map sporting newly designed gear that will likely work as certain rewards for the next Iron Banner. While some Guardians may be eager to pick up the fresh equipment, others may simply be content to take part in the forthcoming Crucible event due to Bannerfall’s appearance in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
