The 24-year-old striker took the chances that came his way brilliantly and netted a hattrick as his team won 4-2 against a spirited Al Wahda side and ensured themselves a spot in the knockout stages of Asia’s premier club competition.
Also in the fray for the honour were Toyota Player of the Week - Al Hilal’s Nicolas Milesi - and Goal’s Player of the Week - Al Ain’s Omar Abdulrahman. Both of them were instrumental for their clubs as well but it was Taremi who impressed the fans the most.
In what turned out to be a close voting, Taremi bagged 43% of the votes cast, with Nicolas Milesi and Abdulrahman accounting for 34% and 23% respectively.
