The 35-year-old shortstop saw his power drop from 23 homers in ‘12 to just six last year despite playing in 160 games. Who’s Hurt: Ryan Howard played 80 games in 2013 before undergoing knee surgery. He appears to be healthy, but at age 34 and having played just 151 games combined the last two years, fantasy owners should not bank on a full campaign from him....

Who’s Not: Bumgarner has emerged, but rotation mates Matt Cain (8-10, 4.00 ERA) and Tim Lincecum (10-14, 4.37) have lost their touch. The problem is both pitchers struggled at home last year. Cain had a 4.70 ERA; Lincecum had a 4.28 ERA. … Marco Scutaro hit .297 last season, but his run total dropped by 30. Scutaro doesn’t steal bases and doesn’t have power, so he needs to score runs to stay in mixed leagues....
